On October 11, 2015, chefs go head-to-head at the meatiest cooking competition and culinary event in the Pacific Northwest
PORTLAND, Ore. (July 9, 2015) – Tickets are on sale now for this year’s Wild About Game, presented by Nicky USA. The 15th annual cooking competition and celebration of specialty game will be held at the Resort at the Mountain on the slopes of Mt. Hood on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Nicky USA and Nicky Farms proteins will be prepared by some of the region’s best chefs, who will go head-to-head in a cooking competition in four different game meat-based categories. Last year Shane Ryan of Seattle’s Matt’s in the Market took home the title, so this year Portland chefs will be
vying to bring the win back to Oregon. Attendees sample each dish to vote for a winner, and feast at the Jacobsen Salt Artisan Marketplace, where the region’s favorite small-batch producers sample their products, including artisan salts, cheeses, chocolates, ice cream, spirits, wine, beer, Nicky Farms proteins, and samples of specialty meat products in the Nicky USA lineup.
Tickets for Nicky USA’s Wild About Game are $65 per person in advance ($75 at the door), and can be purchased at: http://portland.boldtypetickets.com/events/26014709/wild-about-game
Chefs competing from Portland this year are Johanna Ware (Smallwares), Doug Adams, (Imperial), Andrew Mace, (Le Pigeon), and Carlo Lamagna (Clyde Common). From Seattle, they’ll battle Wiley Frank (Little Uncle), Eric Sakai (Restaurant Marron), Stuart Lane (Spinasse), Brian McCracken and Dana Tough (Spur Gastropub). With this stacked lineup, the food will be incredible and the competition will be intense! Don’t miss this year’s event!

About Nicky USA:
Founded in 1990, Nicky USA is the Northwest’s leading butcher and purveyor of specialty game and high quality meat. The Portland-based company has forged relationships with local and international ranchers, as well as James Beard Award-winning chefs in an effort to make game a mainstay of specialty markets and fine restaurants. Nicky USA recently developed a specialty line of products under their Nicky Farms brand, featuring Northwest raised rabbit, quail, elk, fallow venison, goose, water buffalo, and American bison. With the recent purchase of their very own 35.9-acre farm in Aurora, Ore., owner Geoff Latham is now able to raise game for Nicky USA and host friends and customers. The company has built one of the nation’s only mobile processing units (MPU) for the sustainable and humane processing of animals, specially designed to process both poultry and hooved animals, making it the only USDA-compliant unit of its kind allowing complete control of the process from field to table. Aside from selling specialty game and high quality meat, Nicky USA hosts Wild About Game, an annual head-to-head cooking competition and the meatiest culinary celebration in the Northwest, celebrating high quality meat and specialty game. Nicky USA expanded in 2013 with a second location in Seattle. Orders for either location can be made by calling 1.800.469.4162. For more information, visit www.nickyusa.com.
