Tim Hicks, MONSTER TRUCK, A Tribe Called Red, BADBADNOTGOOD, Bear Mountain, Modern Space, Five Alarm Funk and SkiiTour Also Added To 2016 Fido Music Lineup
WHISTLER, BC – The World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is very excited to announce the lineup for the Fido Outdoor Concert Series in Whistler this April. Canadian funk lords Chromeo will play a free DJ Set at the base of Whistler Mountain as part of the Fido Outdoor Concert Series onSaturday, April 16.
The electro-funk duo hailing from Montreal continually keep it fresh and real with electro-funk, melodic honey, and smart lyrics about the foibles of contemporary love. Attendees of Chromeo DJ Set at WSSF will be dancing and grooving to their retro breakdowns and funky beats.
“We are so stoked to have Chromeo at WSSF this year,” says Sue Eckersley, Executive Director of the World Ski & Snowboard Festival. “The entertainment value of their performance combined with their overall vibe is the perfect addition to the heavy-hitting music lineup and will bring some incredible energy to the second weekend of the Festival.”
Country music fans will be happy to hear that one of Canada’s most dynamic Country stars, Tim Hicks, will close out the Fido Outdoor Concert Series with a free show on Sunday, April 17, followed by a late night performance for the Kokanee Freeride Throwdown at Buffalo Bills.

A Tribe Called Red will get things started this year at WSSF with a free kick off show on the Fido Main Stage at the base of Whistler Mountain on Friday, April 8, followed by a Kokanee Freeride Club Series Performance at Garfinkel’s. Fans and festival-goers alike will get into the groove of WSSF with A Tribe Called Red’s truly unique sound that is impacting the global electronic scene and urban club culture.
Additional performances on the Fido Main Stage at the base of Whistler Mountain include, JUNO award-winning Rock n’ Roll band, MONSTER TRUCK, will be tearing it up on Saturday, April 9.
Jazz virtuosity meets hip hop source material with BADBADNOTGOOD, who has been recently nominated for a JUNO Award. BADBADNOTGOOD will play on Sunday, April 10.
Vancouver’s Bear Mountain will light up the stage on Wednesday, April 13, followed by a Kokanee Freeride Club Series performance at the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC).
Modern Space will play on Thursday, April 14, followed by a Kokanee Freeride Club Series performance at the Longhorn.
Whistler DJ duo SkiiTour will play on Friday, April 15, in addition to a Kokanee Freeride Club Series performance at Moe Joe’s on Tuesday, April 8.
Vancouver’s Five Alarm Funk will play a feet stomping, dance floor rocking show on Saturday, April 16.
Before tearin’ it up in Whistler on the Fido Main Stage in Skiers Plaza, Fido will also be kicking things off with a two concert series featuring local Whistler DJ duo, SkiiTour on March 31st in Calgary at Commonwealth Bar & Stage and April 1st in Vancouver at Fortune Sound Club.
