Philanthro, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing young professionals with unique opportunities to support charitable causes, announced today its 2nd Annual All-City Event, “Alliance.” All five of Philanthro’s chapters, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and New York, will be holding the an event in their respective cities on Friday, November 11, 2011 (11.11.11) to raise money for DonorsChoose.org.Philanthro Seattle will be at Skate King in Bellevue on Friday from 7 to 10pm. Philanthro will continue its tradition of efficiency and giving by donating 100 percent of the net proceeds to DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Proceeds from the all-city event will go funding teachers’ projects in each city’s respective communities.

Public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. Donors can browse project requests and contribute any amount to the one that inspires them. Once a project reaches its funding goal, DonorsChoose.org delivers the materials to the school. To date, the organization has funded 219,405 school projects and raised almost $90 million.
The goal of Philanthro’s all-city event is to raise enough money to fund at least three projects in each of the Philanthro cities. Since its inception in 2007, Philanthro has donated over $268,000 to its partner charities.
