Louise Hall Reider, CITEDuring the Site Global Conference 2013, 7–10 December in Orlando, Florida, USA, 25 Site Past Presidents of Site Global, (The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives) came together to kick off the newly formed Site Past Presidents Council. The Council comprises global leaders and pioneers in the motivational events and incentive travel industry that served as Site Presidents during the association’s 40-year history.

Louise Hall Reider, CITE, who served as Site Global President in 1996, has been appointed Council Chairperson for 2013–2014. “I am honored to have been selected by Site President David Sand to serve as Chairperson for the first Past Presidents Council and to follow in the footsteps of Site’s first president, Anne Wold-Graham,” shared Hall Reider.

The mission of the Past Presidents Council is to further advance Site’s long-term goals to expand the industry, create new educational opportunities and recognize industry leaders and organizations for meritorious service. The agenda for the first Council meeting in Orlando included:

  • A roundtable to review Site’s current activities and future plans, global industry trends and new incentive applications
    • Development of high-quality, high-impact consulting and educational initiatives to governmental business travel organizations in conjunction with current educational outreach programs
    • Creating new networking opportunities for the past presidents with Site’s membership, international industry leaders and government organizations

During the Site Global Conference the Council presented the first-ever Richard Ross Past Presidents’ Award for Outstanding Service to the Incentive Travel Industry to Robert Vitagliano, CITE, of V Associates. The award, named in honor of Richard Ross, Site’s ninth president, who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City, recognizes an individual or organization that has furthered the vision, ideals and ethics of Site. A true renaissance man of incentive travel, Mr.Vitagliano served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Site in 1993. During his six-year tenure, he played a crucial role in Site’s global growth and chapter development and he continues to instruct and consult in incentive marketing around the world

Travel Agent Magazine named Hall Reider as one of “The 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry” and Meetings News named her one of “The 100 Most Powerful Women in Travel.” She earned the “Certified Incentive Travel Executive” (CITE) in 1994, one of just four dozen in the world who hold this highest mark of distinction in the incentive community.  She served as President of Site Global in 1996 and as a Trustee of the Site Foundation from 2001 – 2005.
