House of Matriarch has announced plans to relocate their operations to the former DiStefano Winery.  Their new home, neighboring Soft Tail Spirits original tasting room on Woodinville Drive, will house a retail boutique, perfumer’s atelier, offices, international distribution center, and a grand hall for gatherings and sensoria (TM).

Reflecting the top-shelf status of Washington wine and spirit makers, Matriarch’s founder and perfumer Christi Meshell possesses a rare talent known in the industry as “a nose”.  Since launching her first fragrance in November, 2009, her perfumes have earned attention in publications like Men’s Journal, Sunset Magazine and HInt  while also winning more than a dozen gold medals at international expositions.

Perfume critics have dubbed Meshell as the next “rising star” of the fragrance world, and in August, 2013, Christi was named TOP ARTISAN PERFUMER INTERNATIONAL at the International Fragrance Awards by Taste TV.

“We’re selling our perfumes faster than we can produce them,” says Meshell.  “This beautiful new location will allow us to offer expanded services to both the public and our private label clients.”

In addition to discovering the house’s magnificent fragrances – natural, luxurious perfumes that have earned an international following – wine buyers who visit Matriarch’s new location can experience “Nose Workshops” designed to optimize wine tasting experiences.

“We love sharing our extensive palette of raw materials and aroma knowledge with wine tasters.  If people knew more about the function of olfaction and its relationship to flavor, imagine how much more enjoyable their wine tasting experiences could be,” Meshell explained.

Also the founder of Eastside Women in Business, Meshell adds, “It’s important for me to work with the local community that I’ve called home for the last twenty years.  Creative collaborations inspire me. I love working with other artists to create luxurious, immersive fragrance and flavor experiences.”

Matriarch perfumes are created with locally-sourced materials like lavender from Dr. Maze’s Farm and organic perfume spirits from local craft distillers along with rare and exotic aromatics sourced from around the globe.

Industry specific customizations to Matriarch’s  spacious new facility are underway for a Spring, 2014 Grand Opening.
