The Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) is hosting its annual Regional Roundtable on October 29th – 30th at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma, WA. This year’s event will push the discussion of innovation and sustainability in the Northwest region.

The Roundtable will bring together professionals of all types – manufacturing specialists, industry leaders, researchers, and sustainability gurus – to explore how innovation can improve both economic performance and environmental health.

A highlight includes the Business Leaders Breakfast, co-sponsored by UW Tacoma, Milgard School of Business, Center for Leadership and Social Responsibility, at 8:30 am on October 30th. The keynote speaker is Yoram Bauman, the Stand-up Economist, who has shared the stage with both Robin Williams Paul Krugman. Following his address, a panel of regional business leaders will speak about the process of innovation and how their businesses have used innovative techniques to become more sustainable. Panel speakers include leaders from Harley Marine Services, Impact Washington, the Craft Brew Alliance, and Interstate Distributor Co.

Those who attend the breakfast and the rest of the conference will have the opportunity to network with the speakers and also with leaders from Intel, Boeing, One PacificCoast Bank, Business Interiors Northwest, UBS Financial Services, Perkins Coie, and many others.

Following the morning session on October 30th, Karl Ostrom from the Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability, will deliver a presentation entitled, “Innovation: Yes, There Can Be a Sustainable Capitalism!” A training session focusing on chemical alternatives for businesses is slated for the afternoon.

The conference will provide a great opportunity for professionals from diverse businesses to trade experiences and ideas, to network and explore new possibilities.
