A team of Stantec’s Seattle and Bellevue-area architects, environmental experts, and design industry professionals recently removed moved nearly 1,000 square feet of Himalayan Blackberry bushes, English Ivy and other vegetation from critical areas of the 10-acre Cheasty Greenspace at Mt. View (Beacon Hill).  The effort supports long-term goals to provide nearby neighborhoods with access to nature while creating a safe, scenic pedestrian transit corridor adjacent to Seattle’s light rail system. The mission is being led by the Friends of Cheasty Greenspace at Mountain View, a local non-profit which the Stantec team members are partnering with for the work session. The project is now approximately 80 percent complete.

The effort also began as a part of “Stantec in the Community Day,” an inaugural observance in which the firm’s employees from across North America participated in projects to service their local communities.

The Stantec community unites more than 13,000 specialists working in over 200 locations. We collaborate across disciplines and industries to make buildings, infrastructure, and energy and resource projects happen. Our work—professional consulting in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management, and project economics—begins at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships.
