KING 5 HealthLink, a source for health-related news and information, will air a special half-hour program hosted by our own Jean Enersen. On Thursday, July 25th at 7:30pm, HealthLink Special Report: What you need to know about Health Care Reform will focus on two major aspects of the Affordable Care Act: the individual and employer mandates for insurance coverage.
“As we get closer to the implementation of this landmark legislation, Jean Enersen, KING 5 and the entire HealthLink team is committed to connecting viewers with the tools they need to navigate it,” said Mark Ginther, Executive News Director at KING 5. “Continuing a tradition of public service, the program will clarify many details about the ACA for our audience. What it means for them and what it requires of them.”
Under the Affordable Care Act, new groups of individuals are eligible for Medicaid or subsidized health insurance startingOctober 1, but few know what resources are available. In our HealthLink Special Report: What you need to know about Health Care Reform we follow the stories of two people trying to sort through the process; a 19-year-old student who doesn’t have access to health insurance through parents, and a single parent of two who has a good job but no insurance and will qualify for subsidized insurance.
We also talk to the state head of a small business organization about the delayed employer mandate (until 2015) about why the delay is a good idea.
HealthLink Special Report: What you need to know about Health Care Reform airs on KING 5 Thursday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m. Additional airings take place the same evening on NWCN at 9:00 p.m. and on KONG TV Sunday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m.
Publisher’s Note: It is my humble opinion that every American should take personal responsibility for their own health care – starting by making better choices of what they eat and drink on a daily basis. If Americans ate with some sanity, we would not need the insanity that is Obamacare.
