The Summit at Snoqualmie is set to formally celebrate its 75th Anniversary this Sunday, March 24th, 2013. The Summit West base area will host the day’s festivities with a large number of planned events. The Summit will also welcome back many significant contributors to the history of skiing and snowboarding at Snoqualmie Pass. The list includes David Moffett, past president of the Snoqualmie Pass ski areas and son of Webb Moffett, founder of Snoqualmie Summit Ski Area in 1937.

“The Summit at Snoqualmie has a very rich history with so many contributors and stories within our 75 years of operations,” says Guy Lawrence, marketing director for The Summit at Snoqualmie. “This is our chance to really celebrate an amazing journey with everyone, past and present.”

While the celebration will be punctuated with some formalities, the overall theme to the day is simply to have fun with all who attend. Besides encouraging everyone to dress up in their retro ski and snowboard gear, a photo booth, face painting as well as a pond skim event will make for some great entertainment. There will also be live music most of the afternoon bookending the official ceremony. The ski area is also encouraging past employees, pass holders old and new and generally anyone with ties to Snoqualmie Pass to attend. Additionally, the official Summit at Snoqualmie 75th Anniversary video will be premiered at the event.
