The Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery is pleased to offer new works by Russian born and Newport Beach California artist, Svetlana Shalygina.
Originally from Efremov Russia, Shalygina has traveled the globe in search of personal space and creative expression all the while romancing her palette with human inspiration from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Paris, Milan, Vienna and the American West.
The foundation of Svetlana’s unique style is the poetry and beauty she treasured as a child, and the love she still feels for her Homeland. The core of her creative expression is both personal and nostalgic—to the point she was originally reluctant to share her vision openly with others. Her maturing style has been strongly influenced by her love of nature and her interest in human behavior and emotion.
Raw and enigmatic, her work captures the emotion of a moment to the aura of a location steeped in warmth or a frosty encounter of challenged words and feelings.
While Svetlana Shalygina’s work isn’t new to the Gallery, this will be her first appearance in person. Don’t miss this opportunity to come out and offer a warm welcome and meet Ms. Shalygina as she makes her gallery debut in Bellevue.
The exhibit runs from February 13 – March 10
