MulvannyG2 Architecture hosted a special reception to welcome newly-elected Bellevue Mayor Conrad Lee into office. The reception took place on Wednesday, February 22nd at the MulvannyG2 headquarter office in Bellevue, Wash. with more than 200 guests in attendance.
Lee, who was born in China and moved to Bellevue in 1967, is the first Asian American elected as mayor of the city. The reception, which was co-hosted by MulvannyG2 President Ming Zhang, who was also born in China, provided the opportunity to meet with other Eastside elected officials, business leaders, and distinguished members of the Asian American community.
In addition to remarks by Mayor Lee, other keynote speakers included: Brad Owen, Lieutenant Governor of Washington; Rob McKenna, Washington Attorney General; Don Davidson, former Bellevue Mayor; Jennifer Robertson, Deputy Mayor of Bellevue; Tom Chang, Senior VP & Regional Director of East West Bank; Yushi Shen, Chair of the Chinese Microsoft Employee Network; and King County Councilmember Jane Hague.
The reception was organized by SeattleBin.com, a Bellevue-based information sharing Web portal targeting the Chinese community in the greater Seattle area. Their mission is to provide a platform for people to exchange information of particular interest to Chinese Americans and to promote small and medium-sized businesses in the community. The celebration included a Lion Dance performance by Master Tony Au’s International Dance Team, and music by the Seattle Young Philharmonic.
