Today, Allstate Insurance Company announced the ten Western Washington schools that have each won $10,000 courtesy of Allstate’s Cash for Your Class program. During a six-week campaign, Allstate gave consumers and current Allstate customers the opportunity to decide where Allstate donated a total of $100,000 by asking the public to vote for the K-12 public school of their choice on Allstate’s Cash for Your Class website.
The donation comes at a time when schools in the Puget Sound area are faced with tough decisions due to statewide budget cuts to education. K-12 education is facing $2.2 billion in cuts.
“Allstate would like to thank everyone who participated in the Cash for Your Class’ voting program. We recognize the importance that education plays in the communities in which we live and work and on behalf of the 344 Allstate agents and nearly 400 regional and claims employees in Washington, we are proud to aid the educational needs of our local community,” said, Kim Bartos, Field Vice President, Allstate Insurance Company, Northwest Region. “‘You’re in Good Hands with Allstate’ is more than a company slogan; it is a way of life.”
The top ten schools are as follows:
Newcastle Elementary School
Yelm Prairie Elementary
Boston Harbor Elementary
Reeves Middle School
Hazelwood Elementary School
Lawton Elementary School
Cedar Way Elementary
Newport Heights Elementary
Canyon Creek Elementary
Fernwood Elementary
Results are based on the percentage of total households from each school that voted.
