The 15th annual Wine Cup raised nearly $50,000 for the Washington Wine Industry Foundation’s programs.  WWIF’s programs strengthen the wine industry by advancing research, education, and leadership.

The Wine Cup tournament had over 120 golfers who enjoyed shotgun scramble play on June 22 at Richland’s Meadow Springs Country Club.  These golfers participated in contests and competitions with awards that included a five-day cruise, a Cancun getaway, and golf and wine prizes. The Skylite/Ardor Cellarites team took home the coveted Wine Cup. Kitzke Cellars came in second place, followed by a team from Tudor Hills Vineyard.

Contest winners at the Wine Cup were: Mandy Galbreath (Women’s Longest Drive), Claude Zehnder (Men’s Longest Drive), Cathy Sahli (Women’s Closest to the Pin-25’10”), Corey Braunel (Men’s Closest to the Pin-1’11”), Lisa McKinlay (Women’s Longest Putt-8’), and Brian Barhanovich (Men’s Longest Putt-24’6”).

The Foundation’s mission is to strengthen the future of the Washington wine industry by advancing research, education, and leadership. WWIF helps coordinate, manage and promote scholarships and grants given by the wine and grape industry, and develops resources to enable new ones.
