Celebrity Sports Weekend Includes Chris Matthews 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Fernando Rodney Softball Game
The Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue will host a two-day Celebrity Sports Weekend event to be held at the Foster Family Branch of Bellevue Boys & Girls Club on July 11th and 12th.
Saturday, July 11th— Chris Matthews Celebrity 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. As part of the Celebrity Sports Weekend, Chris Matthews and fellow Seahawk players will play in the Celebrity Round of a 3:3 basketball tournament. Chris Matthews will kick off the tournament at 10AM with the High School Division, which will be followed by the Open Division at 1:30PM. The winning teams from the High School and Open Divisions will advance to play for the Championship Title in the Celebrity Division commencing at 5PM. Teams of 3 – 4 can register to play in the High School and Open Divisions and a limited number of spaces are available for individuals to play alongside of the pros in the Celebrity Round. Sunday, July 12th— On the second day of the Celebrity Sports Weekend, Fernando Rodney and fellow Mariners will be on hand to preside over a friendly game of softball at the Hidden Valley Field at 5PM. Corporate Sponsorships are available to secure a team of 15 players; Fernando and friends will serve as guest coaches during the game. Participants will receive a signed item by Fernando Rodney. While both Celebrity Sports Weekend events are open to the public to watch we kindly suggest a donation of $10 per person to view the game; participants and spectators are also encouraged to bring backpacks and school supplies which will be donated to school children in the Dominican Republic. A silent auction will be held on both Saturday and Sunday featuring sports memorabilia, wine and other unique items.
The proceeds from Celebrity Sports Weekend will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and its Be Great Bellevue campaign to raise funds to build a new Clubhouse in Bellevue.
