Ted Woolsey of Microsoft Studios Joins Undead Labs

Undead Labs today announced that long-time games industry veteran Ted Woolsey would be joining the studio as their General Manager. He comes to Undead Labs from Microsoft Studios, where he was in charge of building the digital games business for Xbox Live Arcade. He and his team were responsible for inking publishing deals and building relationships with developers such as Mojang, The Ted WoolseyBehemoth, Klei Entertainment, and Wargaming.

“I have known Jeff and the team at Undead Labs for over four years, after signing the publishing deal for State of Decay. I always enjoyed the time spent with the team, and have been impressed by the caliber of industry talent the studio has attracted. I’m super excited to have joined the team, and am looking forward to helping to grow the State of Decay business.”

Ted Woolsey has spent over 20 years as an executive in entertainment and technology businesses, developing and publishing game content as well as launching and operating digital platforms and services. He began his career in games first working as the translator for popular Squaresoft, Inc. 16-bit RPG titles such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III and Secret of Mana, and has subsequently held senior management positions at RealNetworks and Microsoft game divisions.

Ted received his MA in Japanese from the University of Washington after attending the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies and spending time in Tokyo as a full-time translator.
