BE the Entrepreneur BootcampSometimes the margin between a great idea and a successful business is incredibly fine. The Palouse Knowledge Corridor aims to help close the gap with its upcoming Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp, aimed at entrepreneurs young and old throughout the Northwest.

The Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp, held June 21-25 in Moscow, Idaho, and Pullman, Wash., will connect budding entrepreneurs in value-added agriculture, animal health and emerging technology with experts in those fields, as well as business, marketing, research, legal and financing. The event will draw on the Palouse’s knowledge base, including research universities Washington State University and the University of Idaho, Whitman and Latah counties, and other experts in the fertile region.

Registration for the five-day training is currently open, and it is expected to book quickly. Only 50 participants can be accommodated at this inaugural Bootcamp experience, which will offer a full immersion into entrepreneurship and small business. Each participant will leave with a well-developed business plan, vetted by industry experts, and will have the opportunity to present that plan to experts and potential investors. Daily sessions will include lectures, practical experience, assignments and takeaways, as well as networking opportunities to get to know others in their field.

The event’s keynote speaker is Patrick Hughes, the founder and CEO of Hughes Group LLC, an award-winning company which provides professional services and support in logistics, supplies, administrative services, fleet management, information management systems, facility maintenance, aircraft services, janitorial services and more. Hughes Group LLC was the 2010 Small Business Association National Minority Small Business of the Year. Hughes Group LLC is based in Tacoma, Wash. The keynote speech is open to the public.
