give kids a smileSince 2003, The American Dental Association (ADA has participated in
“Give Kids A Smile Day”, a volunteer initiative providing free education, preventative, and restorative services to children from low income families. Bellevue dentist, Dr. Judson A. Werner, DDS PS and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue recently celebrated their 10th annual “Give Kids A Smile Day” together.

This year, 20 Club kids were given $6,600 worth of dental care that included free cleanings, exams, fluoride, and fillings. Without this partnership with Dr. Werner, annual dental visits would not have been
possible for some Club kids. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue are grateful to have community partners that not only provide health services to those in need, but take the time to cultivate meaningful relationships too.

Due to the lengthy partnership, Dr. Werner has now enjoyed the same experience as many long time Club staff; the opportunity to see kids grow each year, and watch them become adults and head out into the world! Kids who attended the first Dental Day with Dr. Werner are now graduating high school! “We feel so lucky to have this amazing partnership that helps so many of our kids and their families. Both our staff and Dr. Werner are focused on keeping our kids smiling,” said Kathy Haggart, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue. Dr. Werner’s office is located in Northwest Bellevue at 2150 112th Ave. NE.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue was established in 1952. Currently the organization has 13 sites throughout the City of Bellevue and serves children 2 ½ – 19 years of age. Club programs include the Project Learn
After-school Program, structured athletic leagues, Preschool, and Teen specific programming. For the past 62 years, the Club has provided the young people in our community with something they need and
want most – a safe environment where adults respect and listen to them, and where they can have fun!

Our mission follows that of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
