Seattle Seahawks 12th ManThe Seattle Seahawks look to improve on their NFC leading record (13-3) heading into their Divisional round playoff game today, when they host the New Orleans Saints at 1:35pm at Century Link Field.  (The Aints).  Largely because of their huge win agains the Aints on Monday Night Football last month, and the fact that they rarely lose at home, the Hawks are favored by 9 points.

The Seahawks creamed Drew Brees and New Orleans in Seattle back on December 2nd, 34-7 and at the time looked nearly unbeatable.  Then the next week, they hosted the St. Louis Cardinals at home in a game that meant nothing – and they tanked it, losing 17-10.  It was their first home loss in almost a year and it looked bad for the Hawks.  Most of the sportscasters out there now seem to be singing the praises of everyone, BUT the mighty Hawks – some even saying that the 49ers are the best team in the NFL.

Coming into the playoffs, fresh off a first round bye, the Super Bowl Bound Seattle Seahawks, have a well rested squad and will get help from former Pro Bowler Percy Harvin, who will see action for only the 2nd time since being acquired during the off season.

History has not been kind to teams with first round byes in the playoffs, but your Seattle Seahawks are a team of destiny.  I look for them to win big today 31-17 and continue their march toward beating the Denver Broncos (their former AFC rival) in the big game in New Jersey next month.
