Just not sure what to write about many stores opening their doors this year on Thanksgiving – or many more advertising “Black Friday Week”. I do know that if people don’t buy from those stores (at least during those times), they won’t continue to do this. If they do – and apparently many Americans are so caught up in buying ‘stuff’, that retailers will continue to do this sort of thing.
Before long stores won’t just be open until midnight on Christmas Eve, they will even host big ‘sales’ on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
As it is, Kohl’s announced today that they will be keeping their stores open for more than 100 straight hours – staying open 24 hours a day for the 5 days leading up to Christmas.
The full release is posted below, but I’d really like to hear your opinion on this. Do you hope that more stores will follow suit and stay open 24 hours? Would you shop up until midnight on Christmas eve or buy at sales on Christmas and/or New Year’s Day? Leave your comment below.
