The Association of Washington Business recently honored seven companies (including Ryan in Bellevue – which is headquartered in Houston Texas and calls their Bellevue office their “Seattle” office) for their innovative and steadfast commitment to workplace safety, job training and compensation programs.
AWB’s annual Better Workplace Awards recognize Washington companies that demonstrate exceptional commitment to workplace safety, and that invest in employees through innovative job training, advancement and benefit programs. All 8,000-plus AWB member companies are eligible to submit nominations, which are reviewed by a panel of workplace benefits and safety managers. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP sponsored the awards, which were presented Wednesday during AWB’s annual Legislative Day at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia. Gov. Jay Inslee served as the event’s keynote speaker.
“I’ve got a great gig because I get to work with so many innovative businesses here in Washington state,” said Inslee in his remarks to the audience.
“The best companies understand that keeping workers safe and rewarding them for their hard work isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s good business,” said AWB President Don Brunell. “The employers we honored today represent the very best of that tradition, and we are fortunate to count them as members of AWB. They set a high bar that all businesses — small, medium and large — can hope to reach.”
