My mother, now retired in Seattle, was a long time educator. She taught in public schools and then went to work at Bellevue Community College (now Bellevue College) when she divorced from my father in the 80s. As a teacher and counselor at BCC, mom heard hundreds of personal horror stories from students – many seemed unbelievable.
She was able to comfort and help many of those people, many of whom went on to successful careers in their chosen fields. When I had lunch with her the other day, she mentioned that she had always wanted to write a book about people who are happy in their jobs and careers. She is slowing down some and always has a lot going on, so I’m not so sure she will take the time to sit and write on a regular basis.
Yesterday she called me and strongly suggested that I write the book. I am definitely interested in what makes people happy – especially in their careers, but the main reason I am taking this project on is MOM.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO …. now I am looking to connect with and interview people from all walks of life who are happy in their jobs and careers. If you know someone who is unmistakenly happy with their career and their job, please have them contact me as soon as possible for possible inclusion in my future book, tentatively titled “Career Satisfaction”.
THANK YOU!
