In the spirit of nourishing the mind, body and spirit through food, Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge announces Savor: Sustaining Lives, Nourishing Hope, a first annual celebrity chef dinner and auction benefiting Food Lifeline. The event will take place at the quintessentially northwest farm-to-table restaurant on Friday, April 27, 2012.

Cedarbrook Lodge Culinary Director Roy Breiman and Copperleaf Restaurant Executive Chef Mark Bodinet will host some of Seattle’s most renowned celebrity chefs for an evening of local, sustainable and exquisite cuisine. In addition to Breiman and Bodinet, the guest chef lineup includes Armandino Batali, founder of Salumi; Monique Barbeau, a northwest treasure; Thierry Rautureau, chef and owner of Rover’s and Luc; Johnathan Sundstrom, chef and owner of Lark; and Jason Wilson, chef and owner of Crush. Each chef will prepare a menu item for the collaborative five-course plated dinner that will be complemented with local wine pairings from Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, Wash.; Columbia Crest Winery in Paterson, Wash.; JM Cellars in Woodinville, Wash.; and Youngberg Hill Vineyards in McMinnville, Ore.

“Our goal with ‘Savor: Sustaining Lives, Nourishing Hope’ is to reach out to the community and make a difference locally,” said Breiman. “With the lineup of extremely talented chefs combined with the dynamic auction, live entertainment and support from the community, we’re anticipating a stellar event to benefit a worthy cause and help to end hunger.”

From cuisine and wine to ambiance and auction items, the theme of sustainability will permeate throughout the evening, reflecting the mission of Copperleaf Restaurant as well as Food Lifeline, the largest hunger relief organization in Washington and local Feeding America member.

The evening, emceed by Mark Wright, anchor at KING 5 News, includes a welcome reception, sustainability-inspired silent auction, plated five-course dinner with wine pairings, and live auction led by auctioneer Bill Morton, with all proceeds benefiting Food Lifeline. In addition to one-of-a-kind travel, entertainment and culinary opportunities, the live auction will feature an exclusive, intimate culinary experience from each of the presenting chefs.

“Hunger is a reality, but when we come together as a community at events like Savor, we’re one step closer to ending hunger in Washington,” said Linda Nageotte, president and CEO of Food Lifeline. “Cedarbrook Lodge and each of the partnering chefs, wineries and businesses are playing a tremendous role in helping Food Lifeline accomplish its mission and we’re grateful for the opportunity to share an evening with them.”
