International Ballet Theatre is the Eastside Non-Profit of the Day!
IBT is currently rehearsing for the production of Chipollino.
From the IBT Website:
Through the joy of dance, Chipollino illustrates the struggle of the underclass against the powerful, good versus evil, and the importance of friendship in the face of difficulties.
In this visually engaging presentation, Chipollino is the young son of a family of onions. His story takes place in the little town of Limonia where flowers, vegetables and fruits happily live together. Unfortunately, they also share their lives under the rule of a tyrant known as Prince Lemon.
Through music and dance, Chipollino not only tells a classic tale, but shares a much more profound statement about community and compassion under difficult circumstances.
