The Bellevue Philharmonic recently announced that Michael Miropolsky has accepted the position of Music Director with the Orchestra for a three year term. Maestro Miropolsky conducted the 2009-10 season as Interim Music Director and both the Orchestra Committee and Board recommended he continue as Music Director of the Bellevue Philharmonic.
The 2010-11 season begins October 9-10, featuring Misha Keylin, violin playing the Prokofiev Violin Concerto No.1 in D Major. The orchestra will perform other works by Hindemith, Berlioz and Mussorgsky. This December 12th, the Bellevue Philharmonic and the Bellevue Chamber Chorus (Dr. Frederic Lokken, Music Director) will perform the ever popular Messiah by Handel at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue. Pianist Anastasia Solomatina will be the featured soloist on January 22-23, 2011 for Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 in C Minor. Also on the program are works by Chabrier, Sibelius and Rimsky-Korsakov. March 19-20, 2011 the orchestra will be joined by soprano Christina Kowalski for a collection of opera arias followed by the rousing Symphony No.4 in F minor by Tchaikovsky. The season ends with a set of pops concerts featuring Adam Frey, Euphonium virtuoso on Mother’s Day weekend, May 7-8. Works by J. Strauss, Elgar, Rossini, Bernstein and others will also be performed.
